Do you work on more than one dog at a time?

No — at Fabiulous Grooming, each appointment is one-on-one, ensuring your pet receives undivided attention in a calm, kennel-free environment. The only exception is when multiple pets from the same household are scheduled together. In that case, grooming will take place on the same day, but please note the pickup time may be extended depending on the number of pets being groomed.

How long does a grooming appointment take?

Most appointments take between 2 and 3 hours, depending on your dog’s size, coat condition, and the services requested. If more than one dog from the same household is being groomed, the time frame may be slightly longer. You’ll receive a text notification as soon as your pet is ready for pickup.

How do I book an appointment?

Because we operate by appointment only, we recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred day and time.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, we require a $50 non-refundable deposit to secure all appointments.

  • If you reschedule within 48 hours of your scheduled appointment, your deposit will be transferred to your next appointment.
  • If you try to cancel or reschedule the day of your appointment, your deposit will be forfeited, as this does not allow us enough time to fill the space with another client.
  • If you cancel your appointment, the deposit is forfeited and will not be applied to future services.

Clients have up to seven (7) days from their original appointment date to reschedule and attend their new appointment for the deposit to remain transferable.

After this one-week window, if the client has not rescheduled and completed their appointment within that time, the deposit becomes non-transferable and non-refundable, and a new deposit will be required to book again.

What is your cancellation or no-show policy?

Because appointments are reserved exclusively for one pet at a time, last-minute cancellations and no-shows affect our ability to accommodate other clients.

  • Deposits are non-refundable.
  • If you try to cancel or reschedule the day of your appointment, your deposit will be forfeited, as this does not allow us to schedule another pet at the last minute.
  • Cancelling your appointment forfeits your deposit.
  • If you reschedule at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment, your deposit will be transferred to your next booking.

Are the tools and equipment sanitized between pets?

Yes — cleanliness and safety are top priorities at Fabiulous Grooming. All tools, equipment, and tubs are thoroughly sanitized and disinfected between every pet to ensure the highest hygiene standards and comfort.

Do you take dogs that have been sprayed by a skunk?

Unfortunately, we do not accept skunked dogs. De-skunking treatments often require multiple sessions and do not guarantee complete odor removal. Because the scent can linger even after professional treatments, we cannot guarantee a fully odor-free result and therefore do not offer this service.

Do you accept all breeds?

We welcome any breed under 50 pounds. As a single-groomer studio, this weight limit ensures your pet can be handled safely and comfortably while maintaining the highest quality of care.

Can I stay during my pet’s appointment?

For your pet’s comfort and safety, we kindly ask that pet parents do not stay during the grooming session. Most dogs become excited or distracted when they see their owners, which can make grooming unsafe or stressful.

We also ask that you do not knock on the door or window or try to be visibly seen during your pet’s appointment. Pets can see outside, and once they spot their parent, they often become too excited to continue safely.

Please wait in your car until you receive a text notification that your pet is ready.

Failure to follow this policy may result in your pet being sent home unfinished, as it disrupts the grooming process. If you’re on a tight schedule, please call or text in advance so we can do our best to accommodate your timing.

What happens if my pet doesn’t allow certain parts of the grooming process?

At Fabiulous Grooming, your pet’s comfort and safety always come first. If your dog becomes anxious or resistant at any point during the service, we never force them through it. Instead, we allow short breaks and try again once they’ve calmed down.

If your pet continues to show signs of stress, we may pause the service and ask that you bring them back on another day once they’ve relaxed. Grooming is a training process built on trust, and your pet needs to build confidence with their groomer over time.

While we always strive to complete every service, our top priority is ensuring your pet feels happy, calm, and safe. If we advise a follow-up appointment, please know it’s for your pet’s best interests — not for our convenience.

Do you offer creative color or special spa treatments?

Yes! We specialize in custom creative color using safe, pet-friendly dyes, as well as Ayurvedic Coat Therapy Masks and Purify De-Shed Experiences. All specialty treatments can be added to your dog’s grooming appointment — just mention your interest when booking.

Do you offer discounts for new or returning clients?

Yes!

  • First-time clients receive $10 off their initial full-service appointment.
  • Referral program: For every new client you refer, their owner must mention your name at booking, and you’ll receive $15 off your next grooming appointment. Referral credits are applied after your referral’s first completed visit and are limited to one $15 discount per visit.

Where are you located, and is there parking available?

We are located in Downtown San Diego, on the corner of 10th and C Street, right next to the Men’s Legal Center. There is a small parking lot available for Fabiulous Grooming clients. You are welcome to park in any open spot within that lot, regardless of what the parking signs indicate.

Our landlord has confirmed that clients may use any available space, and there will be no issues or towing concerns for doing so.
